Christmas Holly Design
by Kirsty Meakin
Prepare the Natural Nail and wipe over with Nail Pure Plus.

Apply a Platinum nail form, remove the centre tab and re-attach it to underside of the form where the length will be, this will re-inforce the form and make it slightly stronger. Close the form completely using the tabs so that it creates a point at the end making sure that the form keeps straight to the sidewalls and so that the form doesn’t scoop upwards.
Using a reverse application technique, pick up a bead of Purely Pink Masque pre-mixed with Opal Shimmer and apply it to zone 3. Apply a 2nd bead to zone 2 and finish with at the smile line. Wipe your brush.

Apply a bead of pre-mixed gold glitter to Zone 1. Wipe your brush. Then apply a bead of Raspberry Red and then dip this in the Red Diamond Glitter, place this on the nail starting where the gold glitter ends and finishing half way up the form. Wipe your brush.

Pick up a bead of the pre-mixed Green Glitter and place this on form starting from the end of the Raspberry Red and finishing at the end of the form in a point. Wipe your brush
Apply Totally Clear to the entire nail to encapsulate the design, making sure to build up the stress area. Allow to set. You can gently pinch the nail using your thumbs or Perry Tweezers to enhance the ‘C’ curve.

Once the acrylic has completely set gently remove the nail form by breaking the tabs then starting at the point, pull the nail form down and away from the nail.

File and shape your nail using a 150 grit Endurance File.Remove the dust and wipe over the nail using Cleanse to remove any remaining dust particles.

Apply Glaze n’ Go and cure for 90 seconds.

You can now start to create the holly. Pick up a bead of Soft White Acrylic then a bead of Leaf Green TechNail colour then dip this into the Basic Black, so the colours are layered, this creates a gradient effect when the bead is patted out on the nail. Shape the acrylic into a holly leaf and add detail using the Perry Tweezers. Repeat this process to create another leaf.
